Endlich: Skype für iPad kommt bald (Update)

Ich setz mal kein Fragezeichen hinter diese Meldung. Im grossen weiten Internetz ist ein Video aufgetaucht welches Skype für das iPad zeigt. Mit allem drum und dran inkl. Videotelefonie (auf dem iPad 2) und einem schicken GUI.

Schon länger war gemunkelt worden, dass Skype an einer eigenen Version für das iPad arbeitet, da der iPhone Client auf dem Tablet ein schlechte Figur macht. Fragt sich eigentlich nur noch wann das ganze zum Download bereit steht.

(Update 26.6.2011 22:00) Tuaw konnte mit dem Skype VP Dirk Osterloh sprechen welcher die Skype Version für das iPad bestätigte:

Osterloh says that the iPhone version of Skype burst out of the gate quickly, with a big launch and „a userbase that doubled in just a month’s time.“ And he said the iPad version should „have a similar success,“ especially since it’s basically the same in functionality: chatting, audio and video calling, and all of the other standard actions you can expect from Skype. The current app has been in testing for a few months now, and Osterloh is excited to unleash it on the public.
